Latest update on Coronavirus concerns
June, 2020 Announcement
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy
House of Colour Ltd
All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We have missed seeing clients in person and the joy that gives us so we are glad to be getting back to where we were. We have ensured that all our consultants have been fully trained in Covid -19 Infection Prevention and Control and will continue to take your safety and theirs very seriously.
We have missed being able to offer you colour and make-up sessions, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible. We anticipate opening our studios again from 4 July 2020 in England in line with hairdressers and beauty salons. Timings may differ in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland and are dependent on government advice.
Our priority is to keep you and our consultants as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening our studios, we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of. During the time the studios have been shut, we have all completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit. We have also taken the opportunity to innovate and take our styling services into the virtual space.
If any of our consultants or their household feel ill or have symptoms of COVlD-19, They will self-isolate immediately and not go their studio. This may mean that they have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is postponed you will be able to re-book.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.
Our consultant will contact you on the day of your appointment to ask questions of you and herself to ensure you are both well.
Visiting the Studio
We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the studios including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between eachclient.
All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.
Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items to apply make-up and these will be disposed of safely after use.
You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you enter the studio
Wecan confirm that the laundering of towels is a priority and will take place after every client leaves and we can assure you that all towels are washed at 60 degrees C
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the colour analysis area as soon as a client leaves.
We will not be offering refreshments during your visit to the studio. If you would like to bring a drink with you that is fine and the container in which it came must be taken away from the studio by you.
Our colour analysis sessions
We have carried out a risk assessment on colour analysis sessions and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely.
Clients will only be seen on a 1 to 1 basis unless 2 clients live in the same accommodation or are in a support bubble and want to attend together.
We will ask you to attend wearing a mask but you need to understand that this will need to be removed whilst your colour analysis is undertaken. If you are not comfortable with this you should not attend the session as colour analysis cannot be done whilst you are wearing a mask.
The consultant will wear a visor and mask whilst doing your colour analysis
The drapes used during the session will not be used on another client for at least 72 hours. All capes and gowns used to cover your clothing will be laundered at 60 degrees immediately after each client leaves the studio. These actions are in line with current government advice.
During your session
We understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that consultantswash their hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your session and before choosing make-up for you and we will be asking you to do the same.
Wewill try to make your session as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your colour analysis please let usknow and we will do what wecan to satisfy you.
In order to avoid handling of cash,we would prefer if you could pay for your session in advance using bank transfer or other agreed payment method.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our consultants. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.
